Al final, todo redunda en nuestra calidad de vida y sin un sue\u00f1o reparador profundo no podremos alcanzar la tan anisada sensaci\u00f3n de bienenstar general.<\/p>\n<p>El sue\u00f1o es vital para la salud por muchas razones: ayuda a <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">eliminar las toxinas<\/span> del cerebro y permite que <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">nuestro cuerpo descanse y se repare<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Algunas personas encuentran que <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">necesitan menos horas de sue\u00f1o<\/span> a medida que envejecen, pero la mayor\u00eda todav\u00eda tenemos como objetivo dormir durante siete u ocho horas cada noche.<\/p>\n<p>El <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">sue\u00f1o interrumpido<\/span> y la <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">sensaci\u00f3n de cansancio<\/span> al despertar cada d\u00eda no son una parte normal del envejecimiento.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no podemos dormir?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Los<a href=\"https:\/\/riberasalud.com\/juan-cardona\/blog\/2019\/07\/26\/como-aliviar-los-sintomas-de-la-menopausia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">cambios fisiol\u00f3gicos<\/span><\/a>\u00a0pueden producir que resulte m\u00e1s dificil conciliar el sue\u00f1o a medida que envejecemos.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestras <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">enfermedades<\/span> pueden interrumpir el sue\u00f1o debido a las molestias o el dolor que muchas veces acarrean: coraz\u00f3n, artritis, problemas gastrointestinales, neuropat\u00edas y problemas pulmonares son s\u00f3lo algunos ejemplos.<\/p>\n<p>La\u00a0enfermedad de\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">Alzheimer\u00a0<\/span>tambi\u00e9n contribuye a veces a insomnio, al alterar el ritmo circadiano, por lesiones espec\u00edficas de la enfermedad.<\/p>\n<p>A medida que envejecemos, <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">disminuye el sue\u00f1o de onda lenta<\/span>, que es un sue\u00f1o m\u00e1s profundo y reparador.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, al aumentar la edad, nuestras v\u00edas a\u00e9reas superiores se vuelven m\u00e1s propensas al colapso y se puede desarrollar <span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">apnea obstructiva del sue\u00f1o<\/span>.\u00a0Algunos de los s\u00edntomas de la AOS son los ronquidos, pausas en la respiraci\u00f3n y dificultad para dormir, adem\u00e1s de \u00a0somnolencia diurna excesiva.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff255a;\">Sugerencias para mejorar nuestra calidad de sue\u00f1o:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.- Limitar las siestas diurnas.<br \/>\n2.- No comer en exceso antes de acostarnos.<br \/>\n3.- Apagar las pantallas (televisores, tabletas, smartphones) por lo menos una hora antes de acostarnos.<br \/>\n4.- Dedicar un tiempo a leer, escuchar m\u00fasica relajante o tomar un ba\u00f1o caliente, ayuda a prepararnos para dormir.<br \/>\n5.- Limitar o evitar el alcohol y la cafe\u00edna, especialmente en la noche.<br \/>\n6.- Mantener la habitaci\u00f3n a una temperatura confortable, con preferencia a fresca.<br \/>\n7.- Limitar los l\u00edquidos en la noche, para evitar las visitas al ba\u00f1o en lo posible.<br \/>\n8.- Hacer ejercicio regular por la ma\u00f1ana temprano.<\/p>\n<p>Si a pesar de todo nos despertamos en plena noche y no volvemos a dormir en un per\u00edodo aproximado de 20 minutos, podemos levantarnos a leer o relajarnos durante un rato o hasta que sintamos sue\u00f1o otra vez.<\/p>\n<p>Aconsejamos evitar las pastillas para dormir salvo que el m\u00e9dico, por las circunstancias del caso en particular, aconseje que son lo m\u00e1s recomendable, en cuyo caso prescribir\u00e1 los adecuados en las dosis justas.<\/p>\n<p>En el Hospital Juan Cardona, tenemos una <strong><span style=\"color: #ff255a;\"><a style=\"color: #ff255a;\" href=\"https:\/\/riberasalud.com\/juan-cardona\/servicio-de-neurofisiologia-clinica-en-el-hospital-juan-cardona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unidad relacionada con trastornos del sue\u00f1o<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, donde le ayudaremos a solucionar su problema para dormir bien.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false,"gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"html"}]},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no puedo dormir bien?
