    Ribera Povisa presents the “Feel the shirt” campaign at the XIII meeting of its Patient Council

    The Patients' Council of Ribera Povisa It held its thirteenth meeting, which focused on the new medical additions to the hospital staff and presented the sports and mental health campaign, "Feel the shirt".

    A total of 16 associations from the Vigo metropolitan area participated in this meeting of the Patients' Council, an organization that was launched in May 2022, with the aim of creating a space for dialogue between patients and healthcare professionals on the current issues that concern them most.

    The center's managing director, Dr. Ángela Guerra, and the medical director, Dr. Emma Iglesias, joined the meeting to chat with patient representatives and detail which services have been reinforced with new doctors. 

    Furthermore, ALCER, the association for the Fight Against Kidney Diseases, has been the protagonist of this session and has presented the dissemination and awareness activities on these pathologies that they are carrying out.

    During the meeting, Cristina Serra, the Director of Nursing at Ribera Povisa Hospital, also presented the new developments and projects the center is working on to improve the quality of care, and Conchi Estévez, a patient at the hospital, presented her new association, Aire de Mar, founded to help people suffering from rare diseases through various activities.

    “Feel the shirt” campaign

    The meeting served to present the Ribera group's campaign to the attendees. “Feel the shirt” on sport and mental health, produced in collaboration with the creative agency March, and various sports clubs including Baxi Ferrol and CB Breogán.

    A total of 13 professional players from football, basketball, rugby, Valencian pilota, futsal, tennis and rowing from 11 clubs are participating in this initiative, which the Ribera group frames within its responsible health model and program Active Ribera, which involves actions for health promotion, education in healthy habits and prevention.

    The participating athletes share their personal stories of how sport has helped them manage the stress and pressure of competition, overcome injuries or serious illnesses, and also the importance of talking about how they feel and seeking professional help when needed. Their full testimonials are featured in several videos promoted on social media and the campaign website.

    In addition, each of them has chosen a meaningful phrase that has been printed on the back of their team's official jersey, as a metaphor for "what they carry inside," and all of these jerseys make up the traveling exhibition "Feeling the Jersey."
