Los\u00a0<strong>trastornos del sue\u00f1o<\/strong>, como el\u00a0<strong>insomnio<\/strong>, pueden causar desorientaci\u00f3n, fatiga, irritabilidad y falta de energ\u00eda. Adem\u00e1s, pueden estar relacionados con el desarrollo de la obesidad. Por si esto fuera poco, algunos estudios recientes asocian el insomnio con el riesgo de padecer\u00a0<strong>enfermedades cardiovasculares<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"seccion-texto\">Este es el caso de una investigaci\u00f3n publicada en \u00ab<strong>Circulation<\/strong>\u00bb, que concluye que las personas que padecen insomnio tienen\u00a0<strong>mayor riesgo de sufrir un infarto agudo de miocardio<\/strong>.<br \/>\nEl trabajo, llevado a cabo por miembros de la\u00a0<strong>Universidad Noruega de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda<\/strong>, en Trondheim, analiz\u00f3 los datos de 52.610 hombres y mujeres de este pa\u00eds. Los resultados del estudio mostraron que aquellas personas que tuvieron\u00a0<strong>problemas para conciliar el sue\u00f1o casi a diario<\/strong>\u00a0ten\u00edan un 45% m\u00e1s de riesgo de padecer un infarto; quienes tuvieron\u00a0<strong>problemas para permanecer dormidos<\/strong>\u00a0casi todas las noches, un 30%; y aquellos que se despertaban con la\u00a0<strong>sensaci\u00f3n de no haber descansado<\/strong>\u00a0m\u00e1s de una vez a la semana, un 27%.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"seccion-titulo-3\">El insomnio en Espa\u00f1a<\/h3>\n<p class=\"seccion-texto\">En marzo de 2012 se dieron a conocer los resultados de un estudio desarrollado por el\u00a0<strong>Hospital Vall d&#8217;Hebron de Barcelona<\/strong>\u00a0y la\u00a0<strong>Escuela de Medicina de Stanford<\/strong>\u00a0(Estados Unidos), en el que se conclu\u00eda que uno de cada cinco espa\u00f1oles padece\u00a0<strong>insomnio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"seccion-texto\">La investigaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n indica que la dificultad para conciliar el sue\u00f1o\u00a0<strong>aumenta con la edad<\/strong>, llegando a situarse en el 10% en las personas mayores de 55 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"seccion-titulo-3\">Consejos para dormir mejor<\/h3>\n<p class=\"seccion-texto\">En muchas ocasiones los\u00a0<strong>malos h\u00e1bitos a la hora de dormir<\/strong>\u00a0son la causa de este trastorno del sue\u00f1o. Por ello, es importante\u00a0<strong>mantener una rutina<\/strong>\u00a0que nos permita conciliar el sue\u00f1o con facilidad y mantenerlo durante las horas que necesitamos descansar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"seccion-texto\">En resumen, para combatir el insomnio es recomendable tomar una serie de\u00a0<strong>medidas higi\u00e9nicas y diet\u00e9ticas<\/strong>, entre las que destacan:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"seccion-texto\">&#8211; Mantener\u00a0<strong>horarios regulares<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"seccion-texto\">&#8211; Realizar\u00a0<strong>ejercicio f\u00edsico<\/strong>, evitando hacerlo cuanto est\u00e9 cerca la hora de acostarse.<\/li>\n<li class=\"seccion-texto\">&#8211; Evitar alimentos y bebidas altas en\u00a0<strong>az\u00facar\u00a0<\/strong>y\u00a0<strong>cafe\u00edna<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"seccion-texto\">&#8211; Evitar el\u00a0<strong>alcohol\u00a0<\/strong>antes de acostarse.<\/li>\n<li class=\"seccion-texto\">&#8211; Evitar las\u00a0<strong>cenas copiosas<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"seccion-texto\">&#8211; En ocasiones, tomar\u00a0<strong>leche templada<\/strong>\u00a0antes de acostarse puede ayudar a conciliar el sue\u00f1o.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"seccion-texto\">Si a pesar de seguir estos consejos y de mantener una rutina sigues teniendo problemas de insomnio,\u00a0<strong>debes consultar con un m\u00e9dico<\/strong>\u00a0para atajar el problema e identificar la causa que pueda estar provoc\u00e1ndolo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"seccion-texto\">Recuerda: el\u00a0<strong>sue\u00f1o\u00a0<\/strong>ha de ser parte de un estilo de vida saludable, como la\u00a0<strong>actividad f\u00edsica<\/strong>\u00a0y la\u00a0<strong>alimentaci\u00f3n equilibrada<\/strong>.
