5.- Vinalopó Hospital and Health Department (Elche Crevillente Salud)
The opening of the Vinalopó Hospital managed as an administrative concession is forecasted for 2010. With this opening, it will be the first time that two general hospitals coexist in a city with a different management model (the General University Hospital, which is directly managed, and the Vinalopó Hospital, privately managed).
The Vinalopó Hospital offers coverage to 140,000 inhabitants in one of the biggest arteries undergoing the most development in the Community of Valencia. It occupies a surface area of over 44,000 built square metres, with 210 individual rooms, 12 operating theatres, 57 outpatient surgeries, 45 day-hospital posts and high technology equipment. Sustainability and protecting the natural environment have been strived for in its construction. In addition to having a solar panel installation that allows for a yearly energy saving of 72%, the centre will have 2,000 square metres of ecological roofing with native plants.
More than 800 workers from different categories will make up the future hospital’s workforce, which will have the best professionals and most up-to-date technology to offer quality health care.
